Strong City was founded in 2015 by Tulane Alumni Peter Gold. After attempting to intervene in a violent situation late one night in downtown New Orleans, LA, Peter was shot. When he woke up several days later in the hospital, he struggled to understand what sequence of events led up to the moment the shooter unleashed such extreme violence with such ease. The mission of Strong City is Peter's answer to that question.

Strong City's mission is to disrupt cycles of poverty and violence in New Orleans by supporting established local organizations that promote the development of youth.  We work to actively improve the lives of New Orleans Youth through project-based giving and support to our community partners: The Youth Empowerment Project and The New Orleans Women's and Children's Shelter. By committing to a constant process of consulting our community partners, we can guarantee that our resources are being used in a meaningful and impactful way.
